What is Domain Whois?

Domain Whois lets you look up the registration information associated with a domain name. Enter a domain, and the tool queries the relevant registry (Verisign for .com, Nominet for .uk, etc.) to retrieve public data: registrar, creation and expiry dates, DNS servers, and possibly registrant details.

It is an essential tool for checking domain availability, identifying the owner, or monitoring expiry dates. The data comes directly from registries via the Whois protocol (port 43).
